Q: Can I wash my hair with I-tip extensions in?

Of course, all our I-tip extensions are crafted with a hard, Italian keratin bond. This ensures a waterproof and secure tip foundation for excellent longevity so that you can shampoo your hair like normal without it damaging the bond. Just remember to avoid conditioners and oils at the root.

Q: Can I install I-tip extensions on myself?

It’s always recommended to visit a qualified hair extensionist to have professional/ permanent extensions fitted correctly. As easy as they may look, it takes a lot of skill and practice to get them right especially to protect the health and safety of your natural hair. If you prefer to have something easy to do at home, we suggest our Clip-in hair extensions.

I-tip hair extensions are most suitable for those with average-thick hair density and those with finer hair should consider tape, nano or weft extensions instead. It’s important you consult with your hairstylist to truly understand which hair extensions method is best according to your natural hair and your desired end result.

I-tip extensions will not damage your hair if they are fitted correctly, removed correctly, maintained correctly. Q: How many grams of I-tip extensions will I need?

Below is an estimated guide on how many tape pieces you may need based on achieving both length and thickness as a result. While this can be helpful, always consult a professional as you may need more or less depending on your desired look and your natural hair. 

For average hair density:

100-150 grams will create a natural look, while 200 grams will provide a more voluminous appearance.

For medium to thicker hair density:

150-200 grams will lend a natural look while 250 grams+ will result in a more voluminous finish.

• I-tip extensions can be washed anytime after your fitting. 

• Avoid any oils or conditioners at the root for a longer lasting wear.

• A maintenance appointment should be carried out by your stylist every 4 weeks if you choose to keep your extensions in for 8-12 weeks. 

• Make sure to brush through your I-tip extensions including your natural hair (not forgetting the roots).
