For Years, Textured Hair Was an Afterthought

For years, the hair extension industry largely centred around straight hair. For women with naturally wavy, curly and coily textures, finding extensions that truly complemented our hair was incredibly difficult.

I know that experience personally. Like so many women, I spent years relying on constant heat just to make my natural hair blend with extensions that were never designed with my texture in mind — and dealing with the damage that came with it.

When curly hair extensions finally started to enter the industry, I thought things were changing. By this point, I had become a hairdresser specialising in textured hair, working with women with so many different hair types, densities and shades. It quickly became clear that two or three curl patterns and the standard 1B shade simply wasn't cutting it.

And even when I did find the right texture, the quality was often just as disappointing. I found myself replacing hair every few months because of excessive tangling and matting.

We had spent years without being considered at all, and when options finally arrived, we were still being asked to fit the incredible diversity of textured hair into just a handful of choices.

Having the right texture shouldn't mean compromising on quality — and having textured hair shouldn't mean settling for whatever is available.

So We Created What We Couldn't Find

After years of experiencing these frustrations myself — and seeing them reflected in the women I worked with — I decided to create what we couldn't find.

Pearl Majesty was built for women with Type 2–4 wavy, curly and coily hair, with one belief at its heart: our natural textures deserve to be considered, celebrated and catered for with the same care and quality as any other hair type.

Creating Pearl Majesty wasn't simply about offering more textures. It was about recognising the beautiful differences within textured hair and creating extensions that give women more choice — without asking them to change their natural hair to fit what's available.
